Jillian Reiner Shares Insight in this Video By Widseth October 10, 2023 ![](https://blog.widseth.com/hubfs/Landscape%20Architecture.jpg) We’ve probably all experienced outdoor spaces that just don't feel right – walking along busy roads without an appropriate place for pedestrians, awkward entrances to buildings, poorly lit walkways, the list goes on. Landscape architects can help solve those types of problems.  Landscape architecture is about creating places that connect people with nature. It's more than just arranging plants; it's a blend of aesthetics, ecology, and human interaction. This could be enhancing a location’s visual appeal to improving a community's health and well-being. There are many advantages this important design field brings to our everyday lives. In the video below, landscape architect Jillian Reiner describes what landscape architecture is, the design process, and the benefits of well-designed outdoor spaces.     The design process is a journey, starting with thorough research and conceptualization. We ask a lot of questions to fully understand what's trying to be achieved. Once a vision takes shape, we collaborate closely with various experts, including ecologists, planners, and engineers, to ensure the project's viability. Clients are involved every step of the way.  Our goal is to design an amazing space that reflects a vision and enhances the surrounding environment. Sustainability is a core principle in modern landscape architecture. Water management, use of native plants, and innovative design techniques ensure that our projects contribute to a healthier planet, while not losing site of the project's vision.  Once complete, these landscapes become vibrant hubs for community engagement. They offer places to relax, play, exercise, congregate, and foster a sense of belonging.  Widseth works hard to deliver cohesive, holistic projects to our clients and landscape architecture is an integral part of this experience. We have a full range of in-house professionals that can be pulled in at any point during the design process, including architects, engineers, surveyors, and environmental scientists. Working together under one roof makes the design process extremely efficient.   We love nothing more than to work together with clients who enjoy the process of designing and creating something that reflects their vision and will be enjoyed by many for years to come. Landscape architecture enriches our lives and, we hope, changes the way we see the world.  ![Widseth](https://blog.widseth.com/hubfs/Widseth%20logo%20for%20blog.jpg) Widseth / About Author Widseth is a full-service architecture, engineering, environmental, and surveying firm with 11 offices in Minnesota and one in North Dakota.
