Building inefficiencies, structural limitations, and a site that prohibits expansion are major issues for Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative (MLEC). Located on the east side of Aitkin just north of Highway 169, this growing company is ready to find a new home.
MLEC contacted Widseth to assess its current facilities and provide guidance on the decision to pursue a remodel and addition or build a new facility. Our architects and engineers collaborated with MLEC staff to provide the Board of Directors a comprehensive feasibility study. The study included multiple design solutions that would address their current and future needs, allowing MLEC to better serve its members.
We were also asked to help communicate MLEC's desire to relocate by producing a short, informative video. CEO Sarah Cron, Communications Specialist Kassie Peterson, and Board of Directors President Harold Harms explain the challenges MLEC is facing and how a new facility will benefit its members and employees.
Widseth is looking forward to the opportunity to assist MLEC with its new operations facility in the near future.
