Widseth recently helped secure Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) for the Eagle Bend, Freeport, Blackduck, and Garrison Fire Departments.
The AFG program’s goal is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations.
Eagle Bend’s fire department received a $74,657 grant for a thermal imaging camera, cutter/spreader, vehicle extraction equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The Freeport Fire Department received an AFG of $121,380. Freeport’s Fire Chief Andy Grieve stated, “My personal experience working with Phil and Gail was nothing less than totally professional. From day one they asked questions, collected the necessary information, and ran with it. In the end, the Freeport Fire Department was awarded the grant for the purchase of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) air packs. I would highly recommend Phil, Gail, and the entire Widseth team to anyone.”
The Blackduck Fire Department received a $128,346 grant. The fire department will use this grant to purchase personal protective equipment, SCBA units, and face pieces.
The Garrison Fire Department received a $20,728 grant and will use it for COVID related personal protective equipment.
Widseth is committed to rural communities in Minnesota and North Dakota through supporting the safety and fire protection needs of residents. Contact me, Funding Specialist Gail Leverson, for more information about the AFG program and future AFG opportunities.
