Assistance to Firefighters Grants Open Until January 21

Assistance to Firefighters Grants

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Since 2001, AFG has helped firefighters and other first responders obtain equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training, and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards. The primary goal of the AFG is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and nonaffiliated Emergency Medical Service organizations.

 

2. Eligibility

Grants are available for fire departments, nonaffiliated Emergency Medical Service organizations, and State Fire Training Academies.

 

3. Type of Funding

Funding assistance is provided through grants. AFG provides grants of 95% with a local match of 5%.

 

4. Application Deadline

January 21, 2022, at 4 p.m.

Preparation:

You will need these items to apply:

  • A DUNS number (Visit http://fedgov.dnb.com/webform to set one up if you do not have one)
  • A current SAM registration. SAM must be updated every 365 days, so make sure it will be current for the date you want to apply.
  • FEMA GO Registration, usernames, and passwords

5. Cost

Application Preparation: $1,350
