Here's Why You Should Hire An Architect to Perform a Code Review

Written by Greg Bohl, AIA, LEED AP - Architect | Mar 2, 2022 6:18:18 PM

Does this sound familiar? You just received a call from a potential client who wants to start building this spring. He has a design sketch and wants to get moving quickly. Most general contractors have found themselves in this scenario. At this point, it's a good idea to call an architect for a code review.

Most municipalities require a code review for commercial buildings and to issue a building permit. The code review process will reveal limitations for building square footage, maximum height, number of exits needed, and if a sprinkler system is required, which could add significant expense. These are just some of the insights you'll receive from a code review.

Widseth is happy to help you with this important step in the building process. Your client's project will benefit from a well-rounded team of design and construction professionals working together from the very beginning. Schedule a code review with us on your next project.
