The Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals (GGFYP) organization developed a "Bucks for Books" campaign, which raised $4,018 to help restock library shelves in Grand Forks' public schools. When COVID-19 first struck, and schools shifted to distance learning, some books that had been checked out were never returned. Widseth's Alicia Fadley (white vest) and Janelle Boppre (grey shirt) presented librarians and media specialists with a large donation check from GGFYP.
Members of the GGFYP launched a public campaign asking people to donate digitally using a QR code printed on flyers, stickers, and table tents in various Grand Forks businesses. The GGFYP community involvement committee took the campaign a step further by reaching out to local businesses to gauge their interest in making a corporate or employee donation.
