Erica Marcussen has been named one of the Top 25 Women in Business by Prairie Business Magazine. The annual list identifies the leading business women in North Dakota, South Dakota, and western Minnesota.
Erica distinguishes herself as a dedicated architect, coworker, community leader, volunteer, and parent. After graduating from NDSU’s architecture program, Erica returned to her hometown of Brainerd, MN, where she is making an impact on the area’s residents and visitors through her work on community and educational facilities, including several multi-million-dollar school projects. Among those projects are Brainerd Public Schools’ $205 million district-wide improvements and new construction projects; two addition projects for Pillager Public Schools, including the $11.85 million Secondary School Addition in 2011 and the Performing Arts Center Addition, funded by a $12.45 million referendum passed in 2019; and Crosby–Ironton Public Schools’ improvement project, funded by a $30 million referendum passed in 2019. Widseth’s repeat clients often request that she work on their projects.
The nomination process emphasized professional achievement, community contributions, and volunteerism. Erica’s experience as an architect, leadership reputation with clients, and her enduring commitment to her family and community characterize her exceptional role as a person dedicated to a meaningful career and in successfully supporting others around her.
