The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) recently announced the recipients of its 2022 Marketing Communications Awards (MCA). In its 45th year, this annual competition is the longest-standing, most prestigious awards program recognizing excellence in marketing and communications by professional services firms in the design and building industries. The MCA finalists were recognized during the Daytime M Awards luncheon as part of the Amplify A/E/C conference in Atlanta on July 19, 2022.
Widseth received a Merit Award in the Video-External category for its Bridge Plaza Video Series with Chloe Aanenson. The nine-part series presented a unique opportunity for hands-on learning to Chloe, a Mankato high school student who is considering a career in architecture.
The series documents Chloe's quest to learn how Mankato's newest mixed-use showpiece, Bridge Plaza, was designed and built. In each episode, she meets a different professional who explains their role on the project. She was able to visit the job site during multiple stages of construction and even received a personal tour of Vetter Stone's Mankato quarry from CEO Ron Vetter.
“It was great to have everyone in person to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the MCA program. We had another amazing year, with stiff competition among firms. Because of the continued hard work and steadfast dedication of these marketing professionals, we’re able to highlight and recognize these innovative firms and their marketing teams,” commented Molly Dall’Erta, director of member recognition and programs for SMPS.
The program provides an unparalleled opportunity for A/E/C professionals to showcase their best marketing practices and to educate the industry about the critical role of marketing in successful firms.
Widseth has received two prior Marketing Communications Awards in the SMPS national competition.
